Got a Cold? Stay away from NyQuil/DayQuil
Vicks changed the formulation of their popular NyQuil and DayQuil products, removing the active ingredient pseudoephedrine due to its use in making crystal meth. The new active ingredient does nothing for nasal congestion, and the entire product is less effective. Check the labels before buying your usual cold product to avoid "surprises".

Camping
I can not wait 'till I get off work. I will be parking my posterior with Will Fowler and Breanna Talsma, and we will be camping outside of Best Buy for that Toshiba laptop that's going on sale. I am just going to have fun, I'll take a bunch of pictures and document the event. This is the first time I am doing anything like this. What's Goin' On?!
Well...recently I have been hesitant about writing about my personal life because...well...there is just so much to write about. So I will break it down into topics and cover them as such.
Educationally
School is...well...difficult. Not so much as grades. It's all psychological stuff. I'm kind of sick of getting taught at. A person, gets up in front of the class and starts talking. Each period is like a monologue of personal beliefs. I want to be involved. I think about the most influential teachers in my life and all of them involved me somehow in their lessons. Richard A. Guidry was probably one of the best teachers I ever had along with Major Hernandez. Both teachers at Highland High School. They made school fun. I didn't fall asleep, why? Because I was active in participating. Not listening to some guy drone on and on. I want to teach someday just so I can make history fun for someone. That would be cool.
My grades are good. I think. I got my mid-term grades with 4 F's. Apparently some projects were lost, tests not graded so instead of putting an 'Inc.' they put an F. My motivation for school plumitted after I got that, oh and after I spent 30 hours outlining the book of Daniel and getting a 'C+' even after I showed it to the professor and he gave his approval.
Betty got a nasty letter from one of the staff members. It was about being late on the last two payments of her school. I thought she was exaggerating when she told me that it was rude and uncalled for and that she was just being emotional. I read the note, my billed is payed off and even I was offended. Basically the letter bashed her character, told her she lost her testimony and should not be allowed to go on her extended ministry to work at a growing church because she is not fit to represent the college. This can be slightly discouraging to a women that works two jobs, and is not getting any help from friends or family. Her church was supposed to help her but she has yet to receive another payment. But whatever...
Employment
I did end up getting that job at
Socially
I am loving my 15 minutes of fame here at school though. I somewhat turned into a hero of some sort here at school...It is funny how the person who thinks outside the box is the persecuted one but once he becomes the man at the top of the ladder he becomes the gifted one. I still think out of the box but now it is not frowned upon. In fact, people really like it, and in turn really like me. I use my new found power not to hurt those below me though. I talk to guys I don't know and encourage them. I help people feel at home and try to give people a good laugh, yes, even at my own expense. People know that I am real. They know that I am not putting on a show just like other people. They see my good days, they see my bad days. They see when I'm struggling with something and I think something inside of them says, “See, you're not alone. Even Joe Philipson deals with his own wars.” I think that helps people. I never had much respect for a guy that had everything going good for him.
Betty and I are doing great. I will not go into any detail but things are going soo good right now. I really like this girl and hope that it ends up at the marriage altar. It is a struggle though. So many things go through my head. Things that I am not sure if they are natural or not. I sometimes do not know how to handle certain situations or what I should be expecting out of a relationship. This is the first real relationship I have ever attempted. I just take it a day at a time.
I have the best roomates in the whole world.
Economically
Everything is going good in this area. As I stated above I have a good job that I like. I am invested in several companies that are doing really really well.
Apple – AAPL
Boeing – BA
Titanium Metals – TIE
Sarah Lee – SLE
Prepaid Legal – PPL
Mattel – MAT
Johnson and Johnson – JNJ
I have found that this is an extremely addicting hobby but also very fun and educational. I have also decided to sell my United States Treasury Bonds and purchase more stock in TIE. This should be exciting.
Holidays
I am working Thanksgiving Holiday so if you want to send me an e-mail wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving it would be much appreciated. However, before work I will be going over the Jones' house for fellowship with Betty, which should be fun, and that night I will be camping at Best Buy, in line waiting to get those holiday specials. I will be there taking pictures to document this radical event. So, I guess that is where I will leave it. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and a happy 1 year blogging for me. See you all later.
If you can decode* this I will give you mad props.

A Little Study of Starbucks
Because of some of the places that I gathered this information from, and the original Starbuck's logo which is very provacotive, I will be copying and pasting stuff from these sites. I won't be posting where I got them from unless you e-mail me and I can reveal that information. The Starbucks logo is not a symbol of Wicca, which some have thought.
"...Typically they are called Sirens - both the half-bird/half-woman and the half-fish/half-woman varieties. The fish type are usually called Mermaids. Both types according to the ancient Greeks were in the business of seducing mariners with songs and promises of sex and then killing them, but Hans Christian Andersen and Disney mostly made everybody forget that.
The whole sex-symbol status of mermaids hinges on the question which part is "woman" - upper or lower. "The other type of mermaid" that hapless Fry was referring to would have problems attracting suitors, of course. And how do you do it with the normal type?
Wise mythologists came up with the answer, of course. And the answer is a two-tailed mermaid sometimes called a Melusine."
If you look at the last Starbucks logo, you can see the mermaid...errrr...inviting people in...not to have coffee mind you. Today, Starbucks is viewed as an innocent coffee joint. People, like myself, have probably pondered, while in line, what the logo is supposed to be right before I order. Some people have accused Starbuscks of having a pro-homosexual view and have been pushing a homosexual agenda. Especially with the release of their new cup which promotes a homosexual lifestyle.

US scientists' new robot has 20,000 brain cells
It is remarkable the progression in technology with Robots:
US scientists' new robot has 20,000 brain cells
New York | November 06, 2005 2:15:05 PM IST
Scientists in US have built a robot that is operating on biological principles and without any pre-specified instruction.
Researchers at the Neurosciences Institute (NSI) in La Jolla, California have developed 'Darwin VII' a trashcan-shaped robot that has just 20,000 brain cells.
The infant crawls across a floor strewn with blocks, grabbing and tasting as it goes, its malleable mind impressionable and hungry to learn, reports New Scientist.
It is already adapting, discovering that the striped blocks are yummy and the spotted ones taste bad, the report said.
Its exploration is driven by instincts: an interest in bright objects, a predilection for tasting things, and an innate notion of what tastes good.
Darwin VII consists of a mobile base equipped with a CCD camera for vision, microphones for hearing, conductivity sensors for taste, and effectors for movement of its base, of its head, and of a gripping manipulator, university researchers Jeffrey L. Krichmar Gerald and M. Edelman write in a paper.

That's No Moon
On July 3, 2004, soon after orbital insertion around Saturn, the unmanned spacecraft Cassini sent this disturbing image back to Earth.
A new Death Star?
While many believed this to be proof of the existence of a new Death Star in our very own solar system, it turns out that's no space station. This is a picture of Mimas. Mimas is one of the 31 moons of Saturn. It's 247 miles across (398 kilometers) and sports a huge crater named Herschel that is 80 miles wide (130 kilometers). This picture was taken by the Cassini spacecraft from about a million miles (1.7 million kilometers) away!

New Job and Drug Tests
I’m going to give a little update to my life. Betty and I are doing good. That’s all I’ll say about that. I got that job at EDO. I am currently sitting in the lobby of Sierra Medical Group awaiting to take my drug test via my urine! How exciting! ( I’m being facetious if you couldn’t tell. I had to take a drug test for the first time when I was applying for my job at Best Buy. It was possibly the most awkward thing I had done. Sitting in urgent care is always awkward. These white metal chairs with all these different kinds of people sitting around with all their various maladies. I fear to touch anything for I may be infected with some incurable disease left by the previous patient. The TV in the waiting room is neat, that is if you get a seat where you can see it. Furthermore, if you do get a good seat usually what your watching is going to be dumb. Moreover, if you got a seat, and it wasn’t dumb you wouldn’t be able to hear it because it would be at such a volume to where you could recognize the speakers were emitting some sort of reverberation but it would be too low to detect. So annoyingly you sit, watching a TV you can’t hear trying not to make any sort of eye contact with the people around you. ‘I wonder what her problem is’, I think to myself. Right now I’m watching Disney’s Cinderella. The mice are making her dress. This leads me to my next point, why can’t I have cool mice that do nice things for me. Like my homework, or reconnaissance work in the girl’s dorm, or assassination plots, and of course world domination. I could sure use a couple of good mice.
I’ve been listening to 43 Folders and I really liked the last Podcast he had. About the phone, It is soo true! He gives an example and says, “See that glass in your hand, it’s just temporarily pre-shattered” I think if I just looked at everything that I won in my life and just realize that it is just pre-destroyed or pre-broke I wouldn’t freak out every time it did. Things weren’t meant to last forever. Also, I’ve been told that it is no longer necessary to space twice after a period. This is unconfirmed and my source is shaky at best, Mrs. Weaver, but I will search this out and see if it is true.
The last book I finished was Five People You Will Meet In Heaven. I thought this book was going to be a good management type book. You know, these are five people you can gleam knowledge off of to help improve your life. Boy was I wrong! –
[I pause as some old lady uncontrollably starts coughing next to me…this is what I mean by awkward. Some nurse just came out with all these instruments. Anyways…]
The book was this lame fairytale written by a person that has no clue about what heaven might be like or might not be like. So don’t waste your time. I’ve also read some required school reading. Exploring the book of Daniel by John Phillips It was a great book! Right now I am reading Flags of our Father; and When God Writes Your Love Story. I am going to start reading Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. I have read it before but long ago and I think I could use a brush up on how to communicate to those Venetians. Well, I am going to start working on my Bible Doctrines 3 paper. It is on Soteriology and the paper’s title is ‘What Principles From Romans Chapter Six Can Give The Christian Victory Over Sin In His Life?’ I heard about this website that will give you one gig of free online storage and I am thinking about loading up all of my papers on there and providing links from my blog to those papers. That way if there are any WCBC students out there that need some help then it would be available for you. Just don’t cheat and copy or you’ll be sorry…Well, I’ll talk to you guys later.
P.S. I don’t understand why the mice can speak but not the dog, horse, or cat. Very strange these cartoons be….
